A little over half of the CLIC IH faculty hold advanced degrees (Masters’ level and above), and all professors have the licenciatura, a 5-year undergraduate degree in philology or a related field (literature,  linguistics, etc), as well as an obligatory certification in the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language from a qualified institution. Many also hold additional specializations or degrees, especially those teaching content classes, in law, economics, etc.

 

Our professors are supported with a wide array of pedagogical resources and advanced technological equipment such as interactive Smart-boards in many classrooms and classroom multimedia labs.  Smartboards are blackboards which are actually touch-screens,  connected to a computer, audio system and internet, so that lessons are multi-sensory, dynamic and include realia, which are pertinent, true-to-life situations and text for student use. WIFI is available throughout the school and two multimedia labs are open all day so that students can stay connected to home and do class research.

 

Students and faculty can also take advantage of our media and text libraries, as well as our on-site book store specializing in language texts (dictionaries, literature, reference materials, language textbooks, publications, etc).
