CLIC IH Direct Programs are those where students take all classes at CLIC and these courses transfer directly to their home universities as such, finding equivalents within their own systems and departments. Depending on their universities requirements, students may take any CLIC IH offered course. Direct programs places more responsibility on the student or home institution to determine, if credit is needed, how he or she can transfer this.
The aim of this program is to cover CLIC IH’s academic goals for linguistic and intercultural competence, while allowing for maximum flexibility for the student to apply his or her study program to his or her benefit. Direct Programs are less structured than, for example, the Benedictine College Semester program or the FoCUS programs with the University of Seville, as they do not include particular extra-curricular activity schedule or internships, those these can certainly be added at the student’s request. Direct Programs are based on the raw components of the CLIC IH academic program: Spanish Language courses and Content courses in Hispanic studies, and any student over the age of 18 may enroll directly though CLIC IH. CLIC IH Faculty-led programs have a long-standing tradition at CLIC, and we have collaborated with many universities over the years to arrange academic programs that fit their needs. These programs are tailored to a university’s or department’s academic priorities and are group-orientated. Furthermore, faculty are provided specific logistical support, such as: -cell phones for use in Spain -housing for faculty member -specialized programming to fit group purposes, such as excursions in coordination with academic materials, etc
A faculty member accompanies a group of students from his or her university in a given program priorly established. These groups may study from 2 weeks on, according to their goals. The students take language and/or content classes with CLIC IH and might also take a class taught on-site by the accompanying faculty member, for which CLIC provides classroom space and logistical support. These programs have the advantage of being organically arranged, as they develop from the department itself and are supported with a faculty member.
