*Advanced students are very much encouraged to venture out of the normal university classes for foreigners and take classes from the regular university offerings in these departments. To do so, students should have a very solid advanced level as well as be somewhat independent, as Spanish classes are very different from what they might be used to at home. They should be prepared for perhaps more difficult courses that are lecture-style and require students to study independently materials outside of class. We encourage students to take as many of these classes as they are comfortable with up until the 4 class limit. Additionally, students with a solid advanced level may opt out of the language course component to take only content areas courses is his or her home institution is in agreement. This option would have them take only the three week Orientation course in terms of language classes. Students who take this option will have a compensatory number of private classes to be distributed throughout the semester to aid with projects, papers, pronunciations, specific practice, etc, of approximately 2 hours a week.
